Oral health is an essential part of our lives. It’s considered one of the most reliable indicators of a healthy body. The best way to maintain good oral health is by cleaning your mouth and brushing your teeth regularly. However, there are additional habits to adopt that help us improve our oral health.

 

1-Eat healthy! 

One of the most important prevention factors is making sure to keep a healthy diet. A healthy diet helps strengthen the teeth and gums. We recommend diversifying your foods and including foods from all food groups..

 

2-Stay hydrated:

 We recommend that you stay hydrated by drinking sugarfree drinks (water is best) and reduce the consumption of drinks that contain sugar, including fruit juices. Drinking sweet drinks contributes to obesity and damages the teeth.

 

3- Brushing your teeth twice a day 

Brushing your teeth twice daily is crucial to maintaining good oral health. We recommend that you brush them once in the morning and an in the evening right before bedtime. Avoid or minimize eating meals or snacks that contain sugars. Sugar can cause plaque to accumulate on your teeth, which leads to bacteria producing acids that attack the tooth enamel. Eventually these acids can destroy the tooth enamel, which leads to tooth decay.

4-An appointment with a dentist once every 6 months to a year could help! 

Visiting your dentist periodically can help identify small problems that need simple treatments. Early diagnosis can help prevent oral complications and can lead to more affordable treatments.
